The Summer Sanctuary
This building, seen from Centre Street with the tower above it, can hold some 600 people. It has the trompe l'oeil effect on the front wall and ceiling and is used when comfortably warm - mid May to mid October as there is no heat.
Dating from the early 1700s, here we have a seating capacity of about 180 and heat.

Our church tower is one of the highest points on the island to which the public may go. Open to visitors between about mid-May and mid-October, the 94-step climb to the observation room boasts views of Martha’s Vineyard and Cape Cod on clear days.
